Bryan and Nancy Martin Welcome You to Shows, etc!

Bryan and Nancy Martin are certified, AKC Registered professional dog show handlers, based out of Vernon Hills, Illinois. Dogs, dog shows, and dog handling are their passion.

Bryan and Nancy travel throughout the continental United States and across the globe, presenting dogs of all breeds in both National and International competitions - averaging more than 150 shows every year. Both of these very talented and experienced handlers have earned the highest of honors in the sport of purebred dogs, achieving multiple Specialty and All-Breed Best in Show wins at many of the most prestigious shows throughout United States and in global competition.

This is Tiger, pictured with Bryan Martin, earning another Hound Group placement! Tiger has started his 2012 show year with multiple Bessat Hound Specialty Breed wins and numerous Hould Group wins and placements, and has recently added BEST IN SHOW winner to his impressive resume!! We are looking forward to a wonderful year with Tiger, so keep watching!

The 2011 AKC Registered Handler of the Year!

Bryan and Nancy are very proud of the following honor awarded by the American Kennel Club at the AKC/Eukanuba Championship Dog Show on December 17th, 2011 -

"The American Kennel Club Registered Handlers Program applauds Bryan Martin, Recipient of the 2011 AKC Registered Handler of the Year Award.

Nominated by his peers, and selected by the Field Team of the RHP, Bryan has continuously stepped above and beyond as a member of the Registered Handlers Program, and in his role and a Regional Representative he embodies the character and professionalism desired in our membership."

What a thrill for Bryan, and truly an honor!

Highlighting the "Grand Champion"!

On May 12, 2010, the American Kennel Club began offering a new conformation title, the Grand Champion, which was made available to AKC Champions of record. A Special Note of Congratulations goes out to the following show champions that have completed the requirements and been awarded the honor of being a "Grand Champion".

12-13 May - Bryan and Tiger have traveled north to Wisconsin - Indianhead Kennel Club, where Tiger earns a Hound Group 1 win on Saturday and repeats the Group win on Sunday, continuing on to win his first Best In Show rosette!! Congratulations to Dr. Claudia Orlandi and Claire Steidel on this wonderful win for Tiger!!
12-13 May - Nancy and a few of the crew make a trip to Michigan where Scout, the Leonberger, earns a Working Group 1 win and Henley, the Otterhound, brings it in with a couple of Hound Group 2 rosettes. But little Mimi let's everyone know she is the boss this weekend with another Best in Show win at the Midland Michigan Kennel Club show on Saturday! Congratulations to Mimi's owners - James Dalton, Nanette Wright, Dr. J. Turjoman and Marsha Ballard - on BIS win number 6 for Mimi!!
04-06 May - It is a weekend of shows in Jefferson, Wisonconsin, for Bryan and Nancy and the crew. And it is an especially great weekend when the first show day ends with a Best in Show rosette earned by Nancy and Mimi, the Japanese Chin. Congralations to Mimi's owners on BIS #5 for thie wonderful little lady!! The weekend shows were great for many of the participants as there were Hound Group placements for Tiger, the Basset Hound, a Working Group placement for Gem, the Great Pyrenees and a Herding Group 1 win for Smoky, the Polish Lowland Sheepdog!
 
26-29 April - Bryan and Nancy are down mid-state Illinois for a four show weekend, and everyone is in the rosettes every single day! Tiger brings home the blue with Hound Group 1 wins, and Mimi, Smoky and Aston Bruns also representing their respective groups quite prominently throughout the show weekend! Congratulations to all the wonderful wins by the kids!
21-22 April - Nancy and her crew drove to Grand Island, Nebraska, and made a huge splash in the groups, with three Group 1 wins on Saturday with Aston Bruns the Samoyed (owned by Wolfgang Stamp and Barbara Bruns), Henley the Otterhound (owned by Nancy and Richard Wallens) and Mimi the Japanese Chin (owned by James Dalton, Nanette Wright, Dr. J. Turjoman and Marsha Ballard). And there is more news to report on Sunday, when Henley has ANOTHER Hound Group 1 win and Mimi wins the Toy Group again, and then goes on to earn the rosette for BEST IN SHOW! Congratulations to all the big winners from the weekend!
21-22 April - Both Tiger and Smoky represented their Groups well in Fon du Lac, Wisconsin, over the weekend with Bryan. Smoky, the Polish Lowland Sheepdog, owned by Barbara Bruns and Wolfgang Stamp, had a Herding Group 2 and a Group 1 win! And Tiger , the Basset Hound, owned by Dr. Claudia Orlandi and Claire Steidel, had back to back Hound Group 1 wins! Congratulations to a great weekend for these two young boys and their owners!
14-15 April - Stormy weather in Indiana does not keep the good news at bay, as Tiger and Mimi bring home the rosettes from their Group placements over the weekend. Additionally, Harry, the Portuguese Water Dog, brings home his new Championship title after going Winners Dog from the classes! Congratulations to Harry's owners, Cynthia and Alex Maloney, on their new Champion!
12 April - What a great way to spend the day - at the Leonberger Club of America National Specialty in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin! Great wins in the classes throughout the day, leading to a New Champion title for Charlie, who goes Winners Dog at the Specialty and adds the "CH" to his official name! Congratulations to owners Virginia Bartholomay and Gary Butterfield on their new title holder! It is not just a great day for the boys, as the girls have a good showing as well, with Scout earning the rosette for Best of Opposite Sex from the breed competition! Additional congratulations to Virginia Bartholomay on this wonderful win with Scout!
07-09 April - Mimi keeps the winning close to home as she and Nancy win the Toy Group and go BEST IN SHOW at the Kennel Club of Yorkville in DeKalb, Illinois!! Congratulations are in order for Mimi's owners - James Dalton, Nanette Wright, Dr. J. Turjoman and Marsha Ballard - on Mimi's third Best in Show win for 2012!! Mimi is certainly a girl who is demanding the attention!
 
31 March - 01 April - A short trip north to Packerland Kennel Club results in Back-to-Back Hound Group 1 wins for Tiger, the Basset Hound!! Woo-Woo-Woo for Tiger and Bryan!!

24-25 March - Nancy and Mimi fly off for a Girl's Weekend Getaway to Anchorage, Alaska! The ladies are well received with a beautiful Best in Show rosette for Mimi at the Tanana Valley Kennel Club show on Saturday! Congratulations to Nancy and Mimi, and Mimi's owners - James Dalton, Nanette Wright, Dr. J. Turjoman and Marsha Ballard - on Mimi's second Best in Show win for 2012!!

And on Day two of the Girl's Weekend Getaway, Nancy and Mimi take the top honors in the Toy Group with a Group 1 win! What a fabulous couple of days for the ladies!

24-25 March - Bryan and the crew spend a few days in Dubuque, Iowa, and Tiger and Smokey are in the Group ribbons yet again, with Tiger earning another Hound Group 1 win and Group 2 rosette, and Smokey bringing home both a Herding Group 2 and Herding Group 4 placement!

Also, there were two new Championship titles earned - River the Curly-Coated Retriever owned by Kathleen Johnston and Jennifer Brown, and Leslie the Boston Terrier owned by Sergy Larin and Myko Notaro. Congratulations everyone on their new Champions!

15-18 March - Time again for the Kentuckiana Cluster in Louisville, and Tiger starts off the four days of shows with a couple of big Best of Breed win! Secret the Akita takes Winners Bitch for a four point major, winning her Championship title!! Congratulations to owner Linda Wolf on her new title holder! Tiger ends the weekend in Louisville with a Hound Group 3!!

While in Louisville, Bryan and Tiger attend the Kentuckiana Basset Hound Club Specialty show and take Best of Breed honors on Friday! Congratulations to Dr. Claudia Orlandi and Claire Steidel on this wonderful Specialty win for Tiger!

15-18 March - Nancy and the crew are in Kansas City, Missouri, for the four day show weekend with Mimi the Japanese Chin and Henley the Otterhound making their presence known in their respective Groups! On the second day in Kansas City, Henley the Otterhound earns a Hound Group 3 placement, but the day belongs to Mimi the Japanese Chin, who goes all the way to BEST IN SHOW!!

Congratulations to Mimi's owners, James Dalton, Nanette Wright, Dr. J. Turjoman and Marsha Ballard On day three it is another Toy Group 1 win for Mimi!! Mimi continues to earn those group rosettes with a Toy Group 3 placement on Sunday!

03-04 March - It was a great weekend in Auburn, Indiana, where Mimi takes a Toy Group 1 win! Tiger earned back to back Hound Group 2 placements! Aston is not left out of the rosettes and earns a Working Group 4 placement.
03-04 March - Bryan and Tiger are in Detroit for the weekend, and bring back another couple of Breed wins, along with Hound Group 2 and a Hound Group 3 placements!
03-04 March - Nancy is spending the weekend in Wisconsin, where many of the crew get noticed in the Groups - Mimi gets a Toy Group 2, Henley has a Hound Group 3 placement and Aston get the rosette for a Working Group 4!!
 

23-26 February - The International Kennel Club of Chicago weekend of shows has arrived! The first day's competition includes numerous Best of Breed awards and a big five point major win for Harry the Portuguese Water Dog!

Day two of the show brings a new Championship title for Addie, the Flat-Coated Retriever! Congratulations to owners Cheryl Kistner and Michael Musick. In addition, Tiger picks up another Hound Group Placement!

On day three of the IKC Show weekend, Tiger the Basset Hound and Aston the Samoyed both place in their respctive Groups. It is a great day for these two wonderful dogs!

Sunday is day four and brings numerous Best of Breed wins, with the additional five point major win for Kody, the Tibetan Terrier!

18-19 February - A quick trip to Iowa, and there are wonderful group placements for the kids - Aston in the Working Group; Tiger in the Hound Group; Smokey from the Herding Group and Mimi in the Toy Group - each bringing home the beautiful rosettes from this weekend!

13-14 February - It is time once again for the annual trip to Madison Square Garden in New York City, where Bryan and Yahoo the Basset Hound have a memorable time by going Best of Breed at the presitgious Westminster Kennel Club show. What a fantastic retirement win for Yahoo. Congratulations to owners Joan Urban, Claudia Orlandi, Claire Steidel, and Aaron Costilla. And thank you to Yahoo, for a superb 2011.

Day 2 in New York brings another exciting win! It is Best of Breed honors for Nancy and Gilbey the Irish Red and White Setter! Huge congratulations to owners Deb Peterson and Judy Zawikowski on this wonderful Westminster Kennel Club breed win for Gilbey!

09-12 February - Heading south yet again, but not too far - it is a four day weekend in Indianapolis. Day one is starting out very well with Group placements for Tiger the Basset Hound and Smokey the Polish Lowland Sheepdog! Also, a new Champion title is earned for Aston Bruins, the Samoyed owned by Wolfgang Stamp and Barbara Bruins. Congratulations!

Showing on day two in Indiana results in Group placements for Rufus the Tibetan Terrier. Mimi the Japanese Chin and Tiger the Basset Hound and is highlighted by a Working Group 1 win for Aston the Samoyed (pictured below) owned by Richard Mark Litzsinger. Congratulations to all on a great day!

Saturday and Sunday of the four day show weekend brings continued success in the Group ring for Aston, Mimi, and Tiger! And a new champion title for Somerset the Basset Hound was brought home for owners Satoshi Sugita and Ami Nakamoto!

04-05 February - Weekend travels to St. Joseph. Missouri, brings numerous Breed wins and Group placements for the crew. Tiger, Mimi, Scout and Smokey took the state slogan to heart - "Show Me" the Ribbons!

Mimi and Nancy are having a spectacular start to the 2012 year! Mimi has had a fantastic 2011, and is continuing in her winning manner with numerous Toy Group wins and placements to start out the 2012 show year! With her multiple Best in Show wins in 2012, Mimi has become the Top Winning Japanese Chin in the history of the breed! Keep an eye on this marvelous team, as there is more yet to come!
