Bryan and Nancy Martin Welcome You to Shows, etc!

Bryan and Nancy Martin are certified, AKC Registered professional dog show handlers, based out of Vernon Hills, Illinois. Dogs, dog shows, and dog handling are their passion.

Bryan and Nancy travel throughout the continental United States and across the globe, presenting dogs of all breeds in both National and International competitions - averaging more than 150 shows every year. Both of these very talented and experienced handlers have earned the highest of honors in the sport of purebred dogs, achieving multiple Specialty and All-Breed Best in Show wins at many of the most prestigious shows throughout United States and in global competition.

This is Timmy, pictured with Bryan Martin, winning another Hound Group! Timmy started his 2009 show season with Specialty Best in Show and All-Breed Best in Show wins and continues his winning ways into 2010. Timmy has also had multiple Hound Group wins and placements. Watch for Bryan and Timmy throughout 2010!

A Special Note of Congratulations goes out to Dr. Claudia Orlandi, of Topsfield Basset Hounds, on her recognition by the AKC as "Breeder of the Year for 2009". We are very proud of our long time association with Dr. Orlandi and the wonderful Basset Hounds of Topsfield.

Each year, the American Kennel Club recognizes and celebrates an outstanding purebred dog breeder from each of the seven groups, with a single nominee being awarded "Breeder of the Year". The award honors those breeders who have dedicated their lives to improving the health, temperament and quality of purebred dogs.

We would like to acknowledge and congratulate all of the honored nominees:

06-07 February 2010 - Heading south through a snowstorm? Yes - a trip to Missouri this weekend, and a Hound Group 2 placement for Timmy makes it a very worthy drive!
30-31 January 2010 - Staying close to home can be fun and attending the shows this weekend in Illinois has been fun for many, as Nancy and Riker, the Samoyed, takes Back to back Working Group 1 wins over the weekend! What an exciting accomplishment for Nancy and Riker!
22-24 January 2010 - North to Wisconsin where there were multiple Best of Breed wins earned, along with numerous Group Placements, and even a New Champion crowned!! Congratulations to everyone!
08-11 January 2010 - Bryan and Timmy, the Basset Hound, depart the snow of Chicago and travel south to the sunny warmth (all 43 degrees of warmth) of Florida. The outside temperature does not matter, as Timmy is starting out the new year HOT, by earning the Best of Breed rosette and then winning the Hound Group on his first day of the weekend of shows!
18-20 December 2009 - Back in Illinois, close to home and gathering a few Group placements for the weekend with Brys and Timmy!
10-13 December 2009 - California! Here they come! The dogs from the midwest already had a couple of Breed wins at the shows prior to the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship show, and the weekend had only just begun! It is on to a BEST OF BREED win for Fudge (CH. Sharpshot Aris), the Spinone Italiano, at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship on Saturday, December 12th. Congratulations to Fudge's owner, Allison A. Schultz, MD, of Wisconsin!! We are very proud of Fudge and all of his accomplishments!

On Day 2 of the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship show, the Polish Lowland Sheepdog, Brys (CH. Sasquehanna Malinnik Ponadto), owned by Barbara Bruns and Wolfgang Stamp, earned BEST OF BREED honors and a Herding Group Three placement!! Congratulations to Barbara and Wolfgang on this well-deserved win for Brys!

05-06 December 2009 - It was a long trip to Arkansas, but worth the drive when Timmy comes home with a Hound Group 1 win!! There were many other Group Placements - including Paddy, the Irish Water Spaniel, and Tasy, the Samoyed - to fill out the entire weekend!
28-29 November 2009 - Hanging around in Illinois brought numerous Best of Breed wins and multiple group placements! A very nice weekend for all!!
21-22 November 2009 - A little closer to home this weeked, enjoying the time in Illinois with a Hound Group 1 win for Timmy, and Back to Back Group 1 wins for Brys, with the Polish Lowland Sheepdog continuing on to a "Best in Show" win on Sunday! Congratulations to Barbara Bruns and Wolfgang Stamp on a great win with their wonderful dog, Brys!!
12-15 November 2009 - Another road trip out west - this time to Oklahoma! A long drive but well worth the miles as Tasy, Brys and Timmy are in the "blue" ribbons from the very first day with Working Group, Herding Group, and Hound Group 1 wins, respectively, throughout the four day weekend of shows!
06-08 November 2009 - Heading around the lake to Grand Rapids, Michigan this weekend. Timmy, with Bryan guiding the way, earned back to back to back (yes - three!) Hound Group 1 wins to report on this first full weekend in November! Congratulations to Timmy's owners, Dr. Claudia Orlandi, Claire Steidel and Sue Frischmann on this wonderful accomplishment!
28-31 October and 01 November 2009- Shifting the driving direction and off to Fort Wayne, Indiana! Another great series of shows this weekend, with results which included multiple Group placements and two New Championship titles earned for Viggo, the Samoyed, and Taiga, a Samoyed bitch. Congratulations fo Viggo's opwner, Yoshiko Yamada, and Taiga's owner, GloriJean Harper, on their newly titled dogs!
